Interior Screed Group Ltd was commissioned to deliver a full staircase tread screeding package for the new BMW dealership in Northampton. With the client requiring a premium-quality finish that aligned with BMW’s global brand image, precision and durability were paramount.
Scope of Work
- Preparation of metal staircase frames for screed installation.
- Installation of reinforcement mesh for additional strength.
- Application of bonded screed across all stair treads.
- Finishing to exact tolerances to ensure a consistent, safe, and durable surface.
Process
Stage 1 – Preparation
Metal staircase frames were inspected and cleaned prior to works. Bonding agents were applied to ensure maximum adhesion between the metal base and screed.
Stage 2 – Reinforcement
Reinforcement mesh installed across all treads to add strength and prevent cracking. Screed carefully applied, levelled, and compacted using laser levelling tools for accuracy.
Stage 3 – Completion
Treads finished to a smooth, uniform surface ready for final coverings. Completed with a durable finish capable of withstanding heavy footfall.
