Ardex A38 Ultra Rapid

Ardex A35 has been specially formulated to produce ultra-rapid drying floor screeds for internal and external locations. Carrying ultra-rapid dry plus technology an Ardex A35 floor screed can be walked on just 3 hours after application. Ardex A35 will pass a BRE Screed (ISCR) test after just 6 hours. After only one day it will also exceed the acceptable minimum compressive and tensile bending strengths attained by ordinary floor screeds after 28 days.

Ardex A35 is used to produce bonded, unbonded and floating screed for internal and external locations, including wet areas such as swimming pools. Ardex A35 also be used for large repairs to existing cement/sand screeds. It is ideal for situations where very early foot traffic and rapid hardening is required.

Product Compatibility

Suitable for underfloor heating systems
Bonded to concrete ground floor slabs
Installed to insulation boards
Used with precast concrete units or beams
Ideal for thin finishes such as vinyl, carpet, wood
High traffic areas, high resistance to site traffic
Swimming pools, wet areas

Installed to 45N/mm2 after 28 days and reaching 25N/mm2 after only 1 day and with the addition of polypropylene fibres within the screed mix ultimately enables us to achieve a more cohesive floor screeding material – reducing the risk of early shrinkage and cracking. By incorporating screeding fibres within the floor screed mix a three-dimensional system of secondary crack control reinforcement can be considered as a cost-effective alternative to steel wire fabric traditionally introduced for this purpose.

Walkable in 3 hours, ceramic tiles installed after 4 hours, resilient floor coverings after only 48 hours. Drying rates are achieved irrespective of thickness. High humidity or low ambient temperatures can delay the drying out process, we ensure the correct floor screed type is specified at quotation stage.

ARDEX A35 is exclusively site mixed via screed pump or forced action mixer. Sand loads are delivered in tipper wagons or via bulk bags for smaller applications. Ardex A35 cement is where possible despatched to the site via moffett wagon allowing the cement to be easily positioned at mixing areas with minimal disruption to the site.

45N/mm2 compressive strength following 28 days. Ardex A38’s ultra-rapid characteristic’s include significantly reduced drying times improving final floor finish installation time frames. Ultra-rapid early strength development and final strength confirming to BRE Category A.
